Patients that benefit from Hoxsey/Boneset tend to be  Hot and Excessive. Heat symptoms include severe inflammatory conditions, increased thirst or appetite, heat intolerance, bleeding, heat radiating from body or wounds. Excessive symptoms include severe pathologies and clinical presentations, as well s those associated with Dampness acumulation (weight gains, braod/slippery pulses, oily skin, yeast infections, moist pyoderma). The strong anti-inflammatory effect of Hoxsey allows it to be especially effective in the managemetn of conditions requiring the use of high doses of immune supressants, including severe allergic dermatitis, severe arthritis, stoamtitis, eosinophilic granuloma complex, and pemphigus. In addition to being strongly cooling and draining, it contains moving and phlegm transforming herbs that make it appropriate for thetreatment of many tumors, particularly those that are typically inflammatory, malignent or rapidly progressive. (eg lymphoma, osteosarcoma, squamous cell carcinoma). If the use is inappropriate or excessive, vomiting, appetite suppression, or diarrhea may occur which resolve upon stopping the formula.  The addition of Boneset, makes the formula better suited to the relief of severe musculoskeletal pain.
